A story that begins in Florence

Cuoieriashop was founded in 1960 by Dora and Rinaldo Raspanti, well known in Sesto Fiorentino for his skill in creating made-to-measure shoes and leather goods.

From 1960 to the present day, the shop has always been located in the historic centre of Sesto Fiorentino, on the elegant Via Verdi.

Over the years, the shop specialised in leather goods, a business that was still in its early stages but which gave this small enterprise, destined to grow over time, a very personal character. With the handcrafted pieces made by Rinaldo and Dora's business skills, the shop grew year after year, becoming a point of reference for the whole town.

In 1975, their niece Angela took over. Thanks to her youth and drive, while keeping her family's tradition for leather goods alive, she introduced the shop's first Made in Italy leather goods brands. The shop developed a clear identity of its own and began to be known beyond the town as well.

In the early 2000s, Angela's son Niccolò joined the family business. With the rise of the internet, in 2005, almost as an experiment, he opened an eBay account to sell products online...

Early success soon followed, and in 2008 one of the first e-commerce sites in Italy was built on the Magento platform - the current site, cuoieriashop.com.

Thanks to Niccolò's determination and the emergence of an enthusiastic, driven team, all the leading leather goods and accessories brands have since placed their trust in our shop.

Over the years, this team has grown in both experience and people, leading cuoieriashop.com to be named best e-commerce site in Italy in 2019.

The commitment and drive to grow didn't stop there... in 2020, we created and registered a brand entirely our own... VIAVERDI®, a Made in Italy artisan leather goods brand that Cuoieriashop is proud to promote around the world. Thanks to Florentine artisans and expert leatherworkers, it offers high-quality bags and accessories for women and men, carrying forward, both in-store and online, the tradition founded in 1960 by Rinaldo.
